Balloons

Last night I dreamed that I went to heaven

The scene like a children’s cartoon

There was a tree and a Kelly green hillside

And I floated like a balloon

When you get to heaven God gives you balloons you lost when you were alive

When you get to heaven God gives you balloons you lost when you were alive

I saw a cynical savior

He cast on me a skeptical eye

Arms crossed to my curious advances

As if I was not worth the time

Oh Lord, am I not worth your time?

When you get to heaven God gives you balloons you lost when you were alive

When you get to heaven God gives you balloons you lost when you were alive

And from the Carolina blue the voice of God I knew

Said “son don’t be so hard on the fool”

Then the savior said “Hey hey, I’m hearin’ what you’re prayin’”

And I floated like a balloon

When you get to heaven God gives you balloons you lost (that’s right!) when you were alive

When you get to heaven God gives you balloons you lost (that’s right!) when you were alive
