Pearls and Swine

Where the sweet Magnolia grows

There’s a river-bend I know

Where time ain’t nothin’ to kill

It’s a crazy river

It shakes and shivers

It’s a want that never will

Mona took a bus

To Las Vegas in a rush

‘Cause she could not stand the rain

In a fit of passion

Culture clashin’

The sunshine turned to rain

She sits and she wonders

How’d she get so far under

The spell of a wasted youth

Wasted time and that’s the truth

Oh Lord I’ve cast my pearls before the swine

You can ramble, you can roam

Disassemble and disown

You can take back everything you’ve had to say

But who can run

From number one

To live is to obey

I sit and I wonder

How’d I get so far under

The spell of a wasted youth

Wasted time and that’s the truth

Oh Lord I’ve cast my pearls before the swine

Oh Lord I’ve cast my pearls before the swine
